The Re-establishment Commission has sued the PD MP, Kreshnik Çollaku, for defamation, after the latter issued accusations that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha was being supported by the Russian intelligence and the Orthodox Church.
Çollaku's statements came after the January 7 protest by Berisha and his supporters in the courtyard of the blue headquarters.
In closed-door debates of the Presidency, on January 12, Çollaku stated that "Berisha is being supported by Russian influences and the Orthodox Church."
The lawsuit of the Re-establishment Commission states that “These statements were deliberately issued at the height of the crisis within the Democratic Party by MP Kreshnik Çollaku, even after the violence against PD protesters by the State Police but also by armed people inside the party headquarters from supporters of former President Basha on January 8, 2022, seek to manipulate public opinion that not only this movement is funded by dubious sources, but they are sources associated with support from the destructive anti-Albanian force and religious beliefs different from the Muslim ”.

The Court of Appeal has decided to dismiss the request of Mario Perlleshaj, the 14-year-old who allegedly killed Martin Can.
The court has upheld the security measure of "prison arrest". The minor is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Murder committed under qualifying circumstances".
The incident occurred near the "Fan Noli" school in Tirana, where Perlleshaj stabbed Martin Cani in the heart and injured his friend, Luis Meçe.
